I am definitely not going buy this because they are charging us.

I think $10 is too much. They should lower the price.

10$ is a fair price to me. I will buy them if I need them.

I'll pay $5 or $10, don't care which.

That would be the coolest thing, I'd lap that up regardless of having bought panes.

It's not an "excuse", it's a valid reason for buying panes. The only valid reason, as I see it.

You think people who pay for convenience are fools? So you think everyone who buys a car, motorbike or bicycle is a fool? And so is anyone who takes a bus, train or taxi? After all, they could simply walk - so by your reasoning they must be fools if they pay for the convenience of getting to their destination faster.
I assume you think panes are overpriced. That's cool. But if so, you could simply say so, instead of flinging the "fool" insults at people who don't agree.

That's exactly what everyone does. But the standard "trunk" is not big enough to keep what I "need" onhand.

I could see where you're coming from if I were to have paid for the panes myself I'm pretty sure I'd automatically be on the defensive about it (covering my pride mainly).

So, you have no counter to my arguments. Instead, you try to pass them off as automatic responses to defend a wounded pride. Which they are not.
Like I said, if you think panes are overpriced, should be free, whatever... you could simply say so instead of insulting people who disagree.

Dude, some people drive cadillacs, and some drive saturns. There's no right or wrong here. Its your money, spend it on junk food, storage panes, or whatever. Explaining why someone bought panes is giving you their reason, not being defensive, anymore than your brilliant observations to expalin how cheap you are is being defensive.
